Trio of New Nikon DSLRs Imminent

Hot (well maybe warm) on the heels of Canon’s recent unveiling of the entry-level full-HD recording EOS 550D, a whole slew of rumors from the Nikon camp have just surfaced. Since they are just rumors, I’d say to take these with a grain of salt, but I can see Nikon these rumored new cameras becoming a reality.

Firstly there has been a rumored successor for the entry-level D3000 range. Dubbed according the Nikons naming conventions the “D4000” there is nothing special here. What you’ll probably see are minor upgrades to the system to make it more relevant to the market now.

The second rumor is said to be either a successor to the D90 or maybe an in-betweener for the D90 and the D300s. Featuring a whopping 39 AF points, 16 glorious megapixels, 6400 + HI2 ISO, possible larger sensor, 24 fps full 1080p HD and a partridge in a pear tree. This is one camera rumor I’ll be keeping my eye on!

As for the last rumor, it’s so shrouded in secrecy it may upset the very fabric of time and space when released. But in all seriousness, no one knows much about the third camera rumor at this time.

Once again, these are just rumours and who knows, we may just get something totally different like a new full frame D700 replacement! For now, speculation is perhaps the most fun thing about the waiting.
